Leuchtturm List-Ost, located on the eastern side of Sylt, is one of the island’s two historic lighthouses. Built in 1857, the cast-iron tower is painted in bold red and white stripes, standing out vividly against the rolling dunes and North Sea skies. Photographers can capture striking compositions of the lighthouse framed by coastal grasses, sandy paths, and expansive seascapes. Sunrise and sunset provide especially atmospheric conditions, with soft light and long shadows over the dunes.
