Lichtskulptur Synergie

Lichtskulptur Synergie is an eye catching pair of large steel rings standing on the lawn at Platz der Einheit, surrounded by the soaring office towers. Swiss artist Christian Herdeg built it as an open lattice, two circles leaning into one another surrounded by a peaceful reflecting pool. In daylight it's bare metal against glass, and the truss work is fun to experiment with as a graphic, almost abstract, shape. Come back after dark and the Argon tubing inside the framework turns one ring blue and the other a warm red. Plus the reflecting pool allows the colour to carry down into the water and gives you an amazing spot to experiment with reflection photography. The other approach is to line one of the surrounding towers up inside the circles. The sculpture sits in open public square between the Kastor and Pollux towers, with lots of space to move around and play with various angles/compositions. Ideally aim to arrive just before blue hour and stay into the darkness to see the sculpture in all of its phases. (Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany)
