About Loggerhead Lighthouse
Constructed in 1858, the Loggerhead Lighthouse operated in conjunction with the Garden Key Light to guide ships through the shallow water and multitude of reefs. It was taken out of operation in 2015, so now it sits unused as it stands imposingly over the lush greenery of this tiny island. Loggerhead Key island is quite remote and is actually the last key in the Florida Keys. (Loggerhead Key, Florida, USA)
