London Arch is a dramatic sea stack and natural arch rising from the Southern Ocean along the Great Ocean Road, with its history of collapse in 1990 making it one of Australia's most striking coastal geological formations. You can shoot it from the designated clifftop viewing platform, where the arch frames beautifully against the churning water below; a wide or standard zoom in the 24-70mm range works well here to capture both the arch and the surrounding limestone cliffs. Aim for golden hour, when warm light rakes across the textured rock face and the Southern Ocean takes on deep blue and green tones. Morning light tends to be cleaner and less crowded with other visitors. The platform is paved and accessible directly off the Great Ocean Road, so no hiking is required, but lean into the dramatic overcast skies that are common here as they add mood and suit the rugged character of the site.
