Masjid al-Haram, also known as the Great Mosque of Mecca, is part of the Hajj pilgrimage and is the largest in the world holding up to 4 million people. It was built to enclose the Kaʿbah, the holiest shrine in Islam, the oldest parts of the modern structure date to the 16th century. (Mecca, Saudi Arabia)
