Built in 1915, this handsome two-story brick depot anchors the Great Falls streetscape with its striking 135-foot tower rising above the surrounding landscape. The tower is your primary compositional anchor, and shooting from a low angle with a wide-angle lens helps emphasize its height against the Montana sky. Look for leading lines in the building's architectural details, brick coursework, and arched windows to add depth to close-up shots. Overcast days work particularly well here, softening shadows and bringing out the warm tones of the aged brick without the harsh contrasts of direct midday sun. Golden hour light in the late afternoon catches the tower facade beautifully. The building is accessible from street level, giving you clear sightlines from multiple angles. Try stepping back far enough to capture the full structure in context with the surrounding streetscape for a sense of its historic scale. (Great Falls, Montana, United States)
