Montmorency Falls
Montmorency Falls plunges 83 meters into the Saint Lawrence River just east of Quebec City, making it one of the most dramatic waterfalls in eastern Canada and a rewarding subject from multiple vantage points. A suspension bridge spans the top of the falls, giving you a direct overhead perspective looking straight down into the churning mist below, while the base of the falls offers a wide composition with the full drop framed against the cliff face. A cable car and well-maintained trails connect the upper and lower viewing areas, so you can work multiple angles in a single visit. Early morning light reduces crowds and adds soft, directional illumination across the rock face. A wide-angle lens handles the full drop from the base, while a telephoto lets you isolate the crest from across the river. A polarizing filter helps cut glare and brings out the water's texture.
