Mounts Botanical Garden is a 20-acre tropical oasis tucked behind Palm Beach International Airport, packed with more than 7,000 plant species spread across 25 distinct display gardens. For photographers, the variety here is the real draw: you can move from dense jungle-like canopy shots to tight macro work on bromeliads and succulents, then shift to geometric compositions in the cactus and rose sections. Look for natural frames created by overhanging palms and layered foliage, and use winding paths as leading lines through the greenery. Overcast days are ideal since they eliminate harsh shadows and bring out saturated greens and flower colors; early morning on clear days works well too before midday sun bleaches the detail. A macro or short telephoto lens in the 90-100mm range handles flowers and texture beautifully, while a wide angle suits the canopy and garden room interiors.
