Namak Lake is a is a salt lake that is a remnant of the Paratethys sea. The lake only reaches a depth between 45 cm to 1 m, leaving behind intricate salt patterns in its cycle of evaporating, drying and water returning. Usually the lake is dry during the day and you can walk over a crust of hardened salt. After sunset, without evaporation, water rises a few centimeters. (Maranjab, Iran)
