National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall is a 1972 memorial building in Taipei's Xinyi District, designed by architect Wang Da-hong. The building blends traditional Chinese and modernist design perfectly. The unique roof line will draw the eye of any photographer with its intense yellow glazed tile and upturned corners inspired by Tang Dynasty architecture. Plus the columns and dark red walls give the exterior a bold, warm colour palette that photographs well in almost any light. The building sits in the middle of Zhongshan Park, a large open green space with ponds, garden paths, and mature trees. As a bonus from the back of the Memorial Hall you get a completely clear view of Taipei 101 rising directly above the hall's yellow roof. Lake Cui sits peacefully in the middle of the gardens adding amazing reflection opportunities. The park and Memorial Hall grounds are free to access, creating endless shooting opportunities as you take your time and fully explore the area. (Taipei, Taiwan)
