Neepawa Court House is a handsome old brick building right in the heart of downtown Neepawa, a small prairie town in western Manitoba. Built back in 1884, it is one of the oldest courthouses on the Prairies, and over the years it has been everything from a courthouse and jail to town offices and even a theatre, so it carries a lot of local history. The building features a warm pale brick front with a central tower and tall arched windows that sit symmetrically, so a clean shot straight on really works well. Neepawa is a quaint prairie town so you have quite a bit of room to step back to take in the whole building without having to worry to much about being in the way. The brick photographs best in warm light, so early morning or late afternoon is the best time to be here, especially with a crisp prairie blue sky behind it. Since it sits in the heart a quiet rural downtown make sure to take your time and explore the town once you are finished shooting the historic Court House. (Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada)
