Newmillerdam Country Park
Newmillerdam is a peaceful reservoir circled by scenic trails with numerous spots to stop and shoot the pretty view looking out across the waterway. The trails weave through the forest, making the area especially photogenic in the fall as the leaves begin to change colours. The country park was once part of an estate which was owned by the Pilkington family. In the 1870's the family built nine lodges to house the gamekeepers who protected the site from poachers. Two lodges can still be seen today guarding the Dam. The Boathouse was built in the 1820's as a venue for entertaining friends and family, with the men often shooting wildfowl on the lake from punts launched from the Boathouse and ladies joining them for lunch.(Newmillerdam, England)
