Old Florenceville Bridge
This historic covered bridge spans the Meduxnekeag River in rural New Brunswick, offering a classic New England-style composition with its weathered wooden structure reflected in the calm water below. You can shoot from the riverbank to capture the full length of the bridge with its reflection, or position yourself at either entrance to use the tunnel-like interior framing as a leading line toward the light at the far end. The surrounding trees provide excellent colour during fall foliage season, making autumn the most rewarding time to visit. Early morning light works best, reducing harsh shadows inside the bridge and adding soft warmth to the aged wood. A wide-angle lens handles the full exterior shot well, while a longer focal length compresses the treeline nicely from across the river. The site is easy to reach and has open ground along the bank for flexible positioning. (Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick, Canada)
