The Old Methodist Church is an amazing hidden gem tucked away in the rural town of Grass Valley. It's a classic wood frame chapel that was originally built in the early 1900s. Services ran here until the late 1940s, now the building has been sitting abandoned for decades slowly being reclaimed by nature. The lot is wide open, so you can back right up and capture the whole building with the old trees leaning in over the tower. If you are lucky you can time it so daylight shines straight through the shell of the chapel. It sits on the west side of 2nd Street, so morning puts sun on the street side and evening drops it behind the building. The chapel now sits on private land, so make sure to only shoot from the road and stay off the lot. The church has been abandoned for quite some time so it is not safe to enter. It's an easy stop off the highway, and it'll probably hold you longer than you expect. (Grass Valley, Oregon, USA)
