Old Philadelphia Methodist Church

The Old Philadelphia Methodist Church is a quaint little country church sitting on a quiet back road out in the Ozark foothills of north Arkansas. It dates back to 1858, which makes it one of the oldest churches in the state making it a perfect spot to experiment with historic or rural photography. The simple wood frame building photographs well against the surrounding old growth trees. An old cemetery sits right beside it dotted with weathered pioneer headstones that make wonderful foreground elements to lead your eye straight back to the church. The setting is peaceful and tucked away, with very little traffic and few visitors so you can play around with angles and take your time. Early or late sun gives the whole place a soft, quiet feel.
