About Ovech Fortress
Ovech Fortress is a historic stone fortress with breathtaking views over the surrounding valley. The fortress has had a tumultuous history – alternating between being used and abandoned for centuries at a time. It was originally a Byzantine fortification called ‘Provaton’ (literally the Ram Fortress) in use from the 4th to the 7th century. (Provadia, Bulgaria)
