Paulson Bridge

Paulson Bridge is a striking sky-blue steel arch bridge spanning McRae Creek in the mountains of British Columbia, offering a strong geometric subject against a backdrop of dense conifer forest. The bridge's bold color makes it pop in almost any light, and you can frame it from below near the creek bed to emphasize the arch and its reflection in calmer water, or pull back along the Columbia and Western Rail Trail to use the trail itself as a leading line toward the structure. A wide to mid-range lens works well for environmental shots, while a longer focal length lets you compress the forest behind the bridge for a tighter composition. Overcast days are ideal here since the soft, even light brings out the blue steelwork without harsh shadows from the surrounding tree canopy. The trail is accessible on foot and gives you room to explore multiple angles along both banks. (Paulson, British Columbia, Canada)
