Perranporth's dramatic coastline stretches for three miles along Cornwall's Atlantic-facing shore, but the southern end near the town is where you will find the most compelling geological features: Chapel Rock, a large sea stack rising from the sand, and a natural rock arch that frames the beach and open ocean beautifully. At low tide, wet sand reflects the sky and gives you a clean foreground leading toward the arch, while the receding water creates natural patterns worth shooting in their own right. Shoot from the beach level to frame the arch against the horizon, or move in close to use it as a natural portal with the coastline beyond. Golden hour light, especially at sunset, catches the warm tones in the sandstone and adds depth to the textures. A wide angle lens in the 16-24mm range works well here. Check tide times before visiting as the best compositions require low to mid tide. (Perranporth, Cornwall, United Kingdom)
