The Pointe-à-la-Renommée lighthouse is located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River near L'Anse-à-Valleau. This once abandoned lighthouse was relocated in 1977 to Quebec City. After about 20 years in the city of Quebec because of the many protests of the people of Pointe-à-la-Renommée, the lighthouse was repatriated to its original site in Gaspésie in 1997.
