Phare de Saint-Tropez
Perched at the tip of the Saint-Tropez peninsula, this compact white lighthouse with its distinctive red lantern room marks the entrance to one of the French Riviera's most iconic harbors. You can shoot it head-on from the rocky point below for a classic composition with the Mediterranean stretching behind it, or step back onto the harbor promenade to include the colorful moored yachts and traditional fishing boats in the foreground. Golden hour light is exceptional here, especially in the morning when soft warm tones catch the white tower and reflect off the calm water. A wide to standard zoom in the 24-70mm range handles most compositions well, though a longer lens lets you compress the lighthouse against the hillside village behind it.
