Sitting on the peaceful coastline just south of Salerno, Pioppi is a small fishing village sitting along a photogenic shoreline. A winding promenade follows the water line dotted with little pastel houses. This little village centers around a small harbour full of fishing boats and a pebble beach running along the bay. The water is crystal clear, and because the coast faces west, sunset is the time to shoot it. The sun drops over the sea and spreads amazing colours as it warms the fronts of the houses. Winding behind town are coastal paths that offer a higher angle over the bay and the Gulf of Velia. It's a small open village that is peaceful to explore with everything along the waterfront. Summer can gets busy as tourists come looking for beach space away from the main tourist hubs, so spring or early autumn is ideal quieter for shooting. (Pioppi, Campania, Italy)
