About Platges de Comte

Platges de Comte is a stunning string of small sandy coves on the west coast of Ibiza, a short drive out from Sant Josep de sa Talaia. The water is here is shallow and clear, running through every shade of turquoise, with pale sand underneath and rock ledges reaching out into it. Those low flat rocks separate one cove from the next, and can be quite useful while you are shooting giving you both somewhere solid to stand and a strong foreground for the shot. The whole beach faces northwest. So the sun drops straight out to sea in front of you, right behind the low islands of sa Conillera and illa des Bosc, making it an incredible spot to capture the sunset. Although you will want to get there early and pick your spot long before sunset arrives. Since you will need to come earlier in the day take some time to capture the beach when the sun is high and the shallows turn almost unreal colours. You can shoot along the coast from the ledges so the coves stack up one behind the other. There's parking behind the beach plus a couple of beach bars for while you wait for just the light.
