About Plaża Sarbinowo
Sarbinowo beach is a long stretch of pale sand that opens out to the Baltic, dotted with stone groynes to protect the sand and a promenade running along the edge of it. The beach is narrow in front of the village and opens out as you walk either way, and once you are past the last buildings there are low dunes that often shift with the winds. This coast faces north. In summer that puts both sunrise and sunset over the sea, so the light comes in low across the water at both ends of the day creating amazing colours. Plus the wet sand at the tide line picks up the colour. The Baltic here is grey-green and calm more often than not, so on a still evening the whole beach goes to pastel. Winter is different, with the sun staying low in the south behind you and rough weather throwing spray over the beach, which is also fun to capture if you don't mind battling the elements. Fishing boats sit on the sand at Chłopy, a two kilometre walk east, and they are worth checking out while you are in the area. (Sarbinowo, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland)
