Built by Augustus and completed under Tiberius in 20 AD, this remarkably intact Roman bridge spans the Marecchia River on the edge of Rimini's old town, its five elegant arches reflected in the calm water below. The reflection shots are the real prize here, best achieved from the riverbanks on either side where you can get low and use a wide angle lens to capture both the arches and their mirror image in the water. Early morning light is ideal, when the white Istrian stone glows warm and the surface is undisturbed by boat traffic or wind. Shoot from the embankment paths for a classic side-on composition, or walk onto the bridge itself to use its length as a leading line toward the old town. The bridge is easily accessible on foot from the centro storico, and the surrounding canal area gives you multiple vantage points to explore. (Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy)
