Praia da Conceição is a photogenic crescent of white sand on the north coast of Fernando de Noronha. It stretches out a little over a kilometre with forest and low green hills behind it. Morro do Pico sits overlooking the western end and is the highest point on the entire island. The peak is an amazing addition to compositions here. You can easily set up along the eastern end of the beach looking along the curve so the sand leads your eye right to the lush green peak. The coast faces north here, which means the sun drops over the water at the far end of the beach and puts the peak in silhouette. Low tide leaves wet sand you can use to experiment with reflections of both sunset and/or the peak itself. High tide changes the beach completely, with surf coming through and surfers dotting the waterline. The beach is easily accessible with roads running down from Vila dos Remédios, to the middle of the beach and one to the Bar do Meio end, plus at low tide you can walk the sand across from Praia do Cachorro and Praia do Meio. Everyone visiting Noronha pays a daily environmental fee, but there is no extra fees to be on this beach. (Fernando de Noronha, Pernambuco, Brazil)
