Quarteira Beach
Quarteira Beach is a long, open stretch of Atlantic coastline in the Algarve, backed by a wide promenade lined with palm trees that gives you a clean urban-meets-sea composition. The beach curves gently, making it well suited for leading line shots along the shoreline, especially from either end where the arc of the coast draws the eye into the frame. The palm-lined Avenida Infante de Sagres works beautifully as a backdrop, particularly when shot from a low angle to emphasize the trees against the sky. Golden hour before sunset delivers warm side light that brings out texture in the sand and catches the palms nicely; early morning is quieter and better for long exposures of the waves without crowds. A wide angle lens handles the broad sweep of the beach well, while a short telephoto lets you compress the promenade palms against the sea. Parking and access are straightforward along the seafront.
