Rainbow Falls

Rainbow Falls, located just outside downtown Hilo in Wailuku River State Park, is an easily accessible tropical waterfall known for the rainbows that often appear in its mist during sunny mornings. The 80ft cascade plunges over a natural lava cave surrounded by dense jungle foliage, creating a picture perfect scene for landscape and nature photography. A paved viewing platform offers a clear composition, while a short trail to the top of the falls provides alternate angles framed by banyan trees and volcanic rock.
