About Ribeirinha Lighthouse
The Ribeirinha lighthouse was one of the more important landmarks on the island, construction began in 1915. Following the earthquake of 1998, the building was abandoned due to major cracks and deterioration of the internal structure. It has been sitting abandoned, falling into disrepair ever since.
