Rikhardinkatu Library is an architectural shooting gem! It was the first public library in the Nordic countries designed specifically for library purposes. It was built in 1882 and functioned as the main public library of Helsinki until 1986. There is an amazing sophisticated and historical atmosphere to this library - the highlight being its the stunning white spiral staircase as it rises up elegantly towards the sky paired with daylight flooding in through a large skylight.
