Rise
Rise is a unique piece of public art made up of two soaring globes, which can be seen for miles around the city. The spheres are cast in white steel and symbolize the the rising of the sun and new hope for Belfast’s future, while the bed of reeds on which it appears to rest are a reference to the natural heritage of the neighbouring Bog Meadows, with lights at the end of each ‘reed’ reflecting on the two globes.
