Rotunda of Mosta

The Rotunda of Mosta is one of Malta's most striking architectural landmarks, dominated by its enormous neoclassical dome that rises dramatically above the surrounding townscape. The exterior is best photographed from a distance to capture the full scale of the dome against the sky, and the narrow streets radiating outward from the church create natural leading lines that draw the eye toward the facade. For interior shots, look upward to capture the coffered dome ceiling, which rewards a wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range. Early morning gives you soft, even light on the exterior with fewer tourists present, while midday sun can work well inside as light filters through the upper windows. The church sits in a busy town square, so positioning yourself at street corners lets you include surrounding architecture for context.
