Sacsayhuamán is a historic citadel dating back to around 1100 where the first sections were built by the Killke culture. The complex was expanded and added to by the Inca starting in the 13th century. They built dry stone walls constructed of huge stones. The workers carefully cut the boulders to fit them together tightly without using any mortar. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (Cusco, Peru)
