Saint John Vianney Parish View

Perched on a hillside in Sedona's red rock country, this Catholic parish offers one of the more unexpected scenic overlooks in the area, where a row of calvary crosses stands against a sweeping panorama of mesas, juniper-dotted terrain, and open sky. The crosses make natural foreground subjects, and you can frame them against the landscape by shooting from slightly below or at eye level to give them presence without losing the background. A wide angle lens works well here, letting you include both the crosses and the expansive view behind them. Golden hour light is ideal, especially in the late afternoon when warm tones hit the red rock formations and the crosses catch directional light. The site is on church grounds, so be respectful of any services or gatherings happening nearby. Parking is available and access is straightforward from the main road.
