Sandy Hook Lighthouse
Sandy Hook Lighthouse, the oldest working lighthouse in the US, built in 1764. Its tall, octagonal white tower with a red lantern rises above a backdrop of dunes, trees, and ocean, making it a strong subject for both architectural and coastal photography. The surrounding grounds include a historic keeper’s house and open lawns that provide varied vantage points. Sunrise and sunset offer the best light, highlighting the tower against colorful skies. The lighthouse is easily accessible by car and often open for tours, allowing both exterior and interior photography. (Gateway Natl Rec Area, New Jersey, USA)
