Sardis Methodist Church is a quaint rural church that sits at a rural country crossroads about six miles northeast of Sparkman. It is a small white wood church from the late 1800s that is perfect for historical or rural photography. The square bell tower at the front corner stands out making it easy to frame it straight on or slightly angled so the tower stands clean against the sky. The church is surrounded by old growth trees, adding to the historic, quaint feel of the area. The old cemetery sits right beside the church along with a newer one across the road. Those old headstones make great foreground and lead the eye right back to the building. Early or late sun warms the timber and gives the whole area a peaceful feel. Traffic and other visitors are rare so you can take your time and experiment with various angles and light. (Sparkman, Arkansas, USA)
