Schlegeisspeicher
Schlegeisspeicher is a breathtaking high-altitude reservoir located in the Zillertal Valley, framed by the towering peaks of the Zillertal Alps. Its vivid turquoise waters contrast beautifully with the surrounding rock faces and glacier-capped mountains, making it a favorite destination for landscape photographers. The reservoir is accessible via a scenic toll road that opens from late May to mid-October, depending on snow conditions. Numerous hiking trails originate from the dam area, including routes to Olpererhütte and its iconic suspension bridge, offering varied photographic perspectives from lakeside reflections to panoramic alpine vistas. Early mornings provide calm water surfaces for mirror-like compositions, while golden hour light casts a warm glow across the entire valley. (Ginzling, Austria)
