The Sculpture Park at Waitakaruru Arboretum is scenically set into a hillside that was once used as a quarry and overlooks the gentle rolling pasture land. The Waitakaruru Stream runs through the lower part of the arboretum, and a small lake is also part of the grounds. The Arboretum is home to more than 20,000 trees and shrubs and along with an outdoor sculpture park with more than 100 sculptures and installations that are all New Zealand made.
