About Sewell's Pharmacy
Sewell's Pharmacy sits on a corner at the top of New Street in Killarney,where the street runs into Main Street. The pharmacy has been here since 1856, and the house itself goes back to about 1800. The timber shopfront wraps around both sides of the corner with its intricate design, making it photogenic from either street. This is a historic little gem tucked into a street full of unique shooting subjects. Killarney paints alot of its historic shopfronts in fun colours, so the whole street fills with a rainbow of colours if you pull back to a wider frame. Winter evenings put light in the windows, changing the feel of your compositions completely. This is a working pharmacy, so shoot the outside and ask before photographing inside. While you are here it is worth taking your time to explore town and find more little gems. (Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland)
