Built in 1893 and modeled after a Scottish hunting lodge, the Sheridan Inn is one of Wyoming's most striking historic buildings, with its sweeping wrap-around porch and distinctive dormer-studded roofline giving you strong architectural lines to work with. Shoot from across Fifth Street to capture the full facade, using a wide or standard lens to include the porch columns and roofline together without distortion. Early morning light hits the front of the building well and keeps crowds minimal, while overcast days bring out the warm tones of the wood and shingle details without harsh shadows. Get close to the porch for detail shots of the columns, railings, and vintage signage, and look for low angles that emphasize the steep roof against the sky. A 24-70mm range covers most of what you will need here. Street parking is readily available and the building is easy to walk around for multiple perspectives. (Sheridan, Wyoming, United States)
