Silver Sands State Park Beach
The Silver Sands State Park has a small stretch of pebbly beach with a long sand bar stretching well out into the bay connecting with the tiny Charles Island. Depending on the tides it is possible to get all the way out to the island - be sure to stay aware of the moving tides because its easy to be trapped out on the island or caught on the sand bar as the powerful tide begins to come in. Also remember this is a nature preserve so be sure to leave the area just as you found it. (Milford, Connecticut, USA)
