St Andrew, Kirkandrews-on-Esk
The Church of St Andrew was the estate church for Netherby Hall sitting peacefull along the River Esk. It was built in 1776 in red sandstone and is of an unusual rectangular design. The west tower houses a sundial, and this is topped by an open rotunda of columns and a stone cap. The simplicity of the exterior of the church gives no hint either of the splendour tucked away inside. (Longtown Cumbria, England)
