St. Peter's Episcopal Church is a handsome 1859 Gothic Revival stone building with deep historical roots stretching back to a 1715 royal charter from Queen Anne, making it one of the oldest Anglican congregations in America. The church's textured stone facade, arched windows, and surrounding mature trees give you strong architectural compositions, especially from the front corner angle where you can capture the tower against the sky. Overcast days work beautifully here, softening shadows and bringing out the warmth of the stonework, though golden hour light raking across the facade adds real drama. A wide to standard zoom in the 24-50mm range handles the exterior well, while a longer lens lets you isolate details like the arched windows or ironwork. The churchyard also rewards exploration, with historic grave markers and shaded pathways adding depth and context to wider environmental shots. (Albany, New York, United States)
