St. Philomena's Cathedral

St. Philomena's Cathedral is one of the largest churches in India, built in neo-Gothic style with dramatic twin spires rising nearly 54 meters, modeled loosely on the Cologne Cathedral. The symmetrical facade rewards a centered composition shot from the main road in front, where you can frame the full height of both spires with a wide-angle lens, ideally 16-24mm. Early morning gives you soft, even light on the pale stone exterior before the crowds arrive, and the east-facing facade catches warm golden light shortly after sunrise. Step inside for high-contrast shots of the vaulted nave and luminous stained-glass windows, where a longer exposure on a tripod helps balance the dark interior with the colored light.
