Stift Haug is a baroque church in the heart of Würzburg, considered one of the first fully baroque churches in Germany, and its interior rewards photographers with grand architecture, dramatic vaulted ceilings, and rich ornamental detail. The nave draws the eye toward the high altar, making it a natural leading line for wide-angle compositions shot from the entrance. Look up to capture the ceiling frescoes and the interplay of arches, or position yourself near the side aisles to frame layered columns and candlelit altars. Light filtering through the tall windows creates soft, directional illumination that works best during midday when the sun is high enough to reach the interior. A wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range handles the scale well, while a tripod or high-ISO capability is essential given the low ambient light. Entry is free, and the church is generally quiet outside of service times, giving you space to shoot without crowds. (Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany)
