Strbske Pleso
Štrbské Pleso is a stunning glacial lake in the High Tatras, sitting at 1,346 meters above sea level and ringed by jagged mountain peaks that reflect beautifully in its calm surface. The classic composition is from the eastern shore, where you can frame the Solisko and Furkotský štít massifs mirrored in the water, especially in the early morning when the surface is glassy and undisturbed by wind. A wide angle lens works well here to capture both the foreground water and the full mountain backdrop, though a short telephoto helps compress the peaks for a more dramatic look. Sunrise is the best time to visit, with soft alpenglow hitting the ridgeline while mist sometimes lingers over the water. The lake is easily accessible year-round, and in winter a snow-covered shoreline adds a quieter, more dramatic feel to your shots. (Vysoké Tatry, Slovakia)
