Dating back to 1689, Strömfors Ironworks is one of Finland's oldest "bruks" ironworks and now operates as a living history museum. The forge is situated along the banks of a beautiful river in a forest setting with bright red buildings of historic industrial design. These elements combine to make the Strömfors Ironworks a lovely photography location. One building now serves as an art gallery, and the other is a still working ironworks mill. The area is also full of old residences and mansions, some abandoned and in varying states of decay. The entire region is a great place to spend an afternoon taking photos. (Ruotsinpyhtää, Finland)
