About Sunset Cliffs
Sunset Cliffs is a rocky section of coastline looking out over the Pacific Ocean that has incredible sunset colours. As a bonus randomly over the years bioluminescence occurs along this strip of coastline. The dinoflagellate display happens during a red tide, when an algae bloom filled with a certain phytoplankton causes the ocean to appear red or brown during the day. At night when the water is stirred up, it can create the incredible blue bioluminescence. (San Diego, California)
