About Taghazout Beach
Taghazout Beach is a long stretch of soft golden sand in front of the small fishing village of Taghazout along Morocco's Atlantic coast. The rolling waves here bring in surfers from all over the world, so the water is usually a great mix of surfers riding the waves and people waiting for the next set. Higher along the beach fishing boats sit in rows, with the white and ochre houses of the village climbing the hill right behind them. Early in the morning you can watch the fishermen head out, and when they come back later in the day, tractors haul the boats up the beach away from the waterline. Those boats make a great foreground, especially when you line them up with the colourful houses on the hillside. The beach faces west so as the sun drops, the amazing colours of sunset spread across the horizon. It's free to visit and an easy walk down from the main road through town. Plan on staying a little past sunset so you can capture all the various light this beach has to offer. (Taghazout, Souss-Massa, Morocco)
