A wide, 180° view awaits at the Tanbark Ridge Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The ridge was named for a leather tannery that was located in the area. Sunrise can be spectacular as this overlook faces east. Tanbark Ridge Overlook is a great spot to experiment with astrophotography. (Asheville, North Carolina, USA)
