The Church of Saint Sava is the not only the largest Serbian Orthodox church, it is the largest Orthodox place of worship in the Balkans and one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. Uniquely the temple is an eternal work-in-progress—one that’s existed in various stages of creation for more than 100 years. With an incredible history of stopping and re-starting (mainly due to various wars) the exterior was finally completed in 2004 and the interior is still incomplete to this day. (Belgrade, Serbia)
